MORNING UPDATE: DAY 8

The Men's Round of 16 starts things off today in a fun two-to-three foot south swell. Out in the water now in Heat 2 is one of the event standouts, Brazilian Miguel Pupo, who is surfing against Kai Otton of Australia. Heat 1 saw another Brazilian, Filipe Toledo, take the heat win over local surfer, Timmy Reyes.
