ACTION SPORTS

The US Open has a history of inclusion. With so many fans attending the biggest surf event on the planet, why not invite some of our best Action Sports brethren and let them showcase their skills? After all, surfers, skaters, BMXers and other disciplines falling under the "Action Sports" category have two main things in common: we enjoy freedom and we enjoy the rush. Whether it¹s on a wave, ramp or rail, Action Sports enthusiasts find a way to boost the adrenaline.

Those enthusiasts keep growing every year. According to American Sports Data, there at least 25 million Action Sports participants in the United States alone. While the numbers in traditional sports like baseball and football continue to decline, Action sports continues to soar onward and upward. The Hurley US Open of Surfing recognizes this extended family and will be showcasing two of its favorite sports in big ways. Along with all the surf action at the Pier, Nike 6.0 will be hosting a BMX half-pipe featuring the world¹s best. In addition, Converse will construct a mini-bowl on the beach and let the world¹s top skateboarders show us how hard they can go.

While surfing will remain in the spotlight on the South Side, Action Sports will be alive and well on the beach at the Hurley US Open of Surfing.  Be sure to check it out.
